I’m finally getting started on Medium. I have a stack (no pun intended…maybe) of ideas for stories on CubeStack. Things like managing work, communication, focusing on real value, and lots of meaty things.
But it occurred to me that I could also start with something totally different. Something seemingly trivial, yet able to unlock joy and child-like exuberance. Something not meaty at all, at least, not technically.
Peanut butter.
If you have a passion for something, you just do. And I do. I love peanut butter. Over time, between stories about all the other “important” topics for CubeStack, I’ll endeavor to prove that a man needs few other things in life to be happy than peanut butter. Specifically, Great Value Natural Creamy.
Listen, I’ve tried them all. Lots of good PBs out there. Expensive. Cheap. Unusual. Common. Uber-natural. Un-natural. All across the spectrum.
Turns out that good old GV Natural Creamy is the King of Peanut Butters. Choosy moms may choose JIF, but that’s because those moms didn’t listen to the voice of true taste, pure creamy delight, and didn’t read CubeStack. Or perhaps they felt sorry for the piles of JIF sitting on the shelf at the store, despondent and without purpose in the world, yearning to be picked up and placed in a Real Shopping Cart just like they’d always dreamed since birth at the factory. So into the cart a JIF goes, or a Peter Pan, and hey, that can get you by in a pinch.
But start your day with a spoonful of the Good Stuff, a creamy reminder that life is far better than you truly deserve, and watch the world open up.
